SPORTS UPDATE WEEK 1
A warm welcome back to our sporting community. Well who would have thought we would be starting Term 2 in a virtual reality. So here we are in our bubbles, hoping that you are all managing during these unprecedented times.
In this newsletter we would like to give you some updates about different sports provided for by our school. So far, no sporting code or season has been cancelled and we are enrolling our teams in Netball and Hockey competitions. Basketball’s grading process was interrupted, however in term 2, we should resume playing games in 2 divisions.
We have received information from North Harbour Water Polo that there probably won’t be any Flippaball games in term 2 but Millennium will provide clinics and training sessions to introduce children to Flippaball. This is a good way to focus on the game, learn the rules and get a feel for water polo. If you were thinking about giving Flippaball a go, this would be a good time to do it.
Basketball and Miniball were put to hold during the grading process. We haven’t had any updates but hope that we can start playing games in term 2 in 2 different divisions (A & B), and hopefully, Little League will continue with lots of learning for our little players.
If you have enrolled your children in sport we will be updating you via email or our website as soon as new information comes to hand. Otherwise, please keep an eye on these very helpful website as they post regular updates there: Flippa Ball www.northharbourwaterpolo.co.nz , East Coast Bays Sports League Facebook Page for info about Little League, Miniball and Basketball, www.kidzplaynetball.co.nz , www.netballnorthharbour.co.nz, www.harbourhockey.org.nz and our website www.torbay.school.nz/ourlearning/sport.
Keep healthy and strong and play with a ball.
